Hillary’s genocide lie

In 1994, 800 00 innocent people were murdered in the Rwandan genocide while the world looked on – too indifferent to help. Hillary Clinton is seeking some campaign kudos by claiming that she told her husband (who was US president at the time of the tragedy) to send troops there to stop the ethnic cleansing.

This claim has been uncovered in the American blog JustOneMinute as a sham. Click here to read the exposé.

The level some politicians are prepared to stoop to makes one sick. That the senator feels impelled to get political mileage out of a tragedy that the West could have prevented just shows how desperate the woman must be. If anything, the Clintons should be hanging their heads in shame for their behaviour (or the lack thereof) during the genocide.

Politics for the YouTube generation

Maintaining momentum in a savage battle for the Democratic presidential nomination campaign is tough, but the load is lightened a little when the who’s who of entertainment come out in implicit support. A music video entitled “Yes we can” based on Barak Obama’s rousing speech soon after losing the New Hampshire primary, is currently spreading like wildfire on the web. Written by will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas fame and Bob Dylan’s son, Jesse, it features a host of celebs (including Scarlett Johansson, John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Kate Walsh, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Adam Rodriquez, Kelly Hu and Amber Valetta) giving a rousing call for change. It is electioneering at its Web 2.0 best. South African politicians, watch and learn!!
