The Soapbox

On 27 April (Freedom Day in South Africa), Alex Matthews launched The Soapbox.

The Soapbox is an nonpartisan online platform where young South Africans can speak out about things they feel strongly about. In publishing opinion articles by young South Africans, The Soapbox aims to provide a contemporary and relevant space for young people to air their views and for those views to be heard and engaged with. Anyone can submit an opinion piece, on a topic of their choice.

The Soapbox aims to fight political and cultural apathy and to foster tolerance and a culture of intelligent debate among young South Africans.

Visitors to the site are encouraged to post comments in response to the opinion pieces published or even submit a longer response in the form of a rebuttal article.

If you are interested in contributing an opinion piece to The Soapbox, please go to the contribution form or drop a mail to contribute [at] thesoapbox [dot] fm
